Richmond vs Essendon (Dreamtime 2022)

Just got home. Exhausted. Game was hard going - our play plus the endless, week to week bias we have to cop made it very frustrating.

Should have belted them by 10 goals but for terrible skills and execution, drop offs and a second team in green trying to stifle us.

D. Rioli, Baker fantastic. Soldo, Nank tough in the air. Vlaus good. Jack ok. Shai ok. Meatball good but not best on ground for me. Thought Bakes and D.Rioli were better.

Need to find a gear or two next week.
Agree, Rioli and Baker working the backline tonight was like poetry in motion.

Just got back from the game. That was seriously the most disgracefully umpired game I have ever watched of AFL. That was without doubt a 10 goal win, without even needing to think much I could easily run off 4 or 5 goals either taken off us or given to them that swung this result in their favour. We've discussed umpiring before and when the free kick differential can be misleading, tonight it was. -5 is quite low for us, but the impact those green flogs had on the contest was ridiculous.

Personally felt Baker was BOG, but you could throw 3 names into that ring and any of them would have been rightful winners (the other 2 being Prestia and Dan Rioli).

I'm actually tired watching that, but we should bookmark this page for Brownlow night. I'd expect to hear 3 votes. D Parish even though his 43 disposals were some of the most ineffectual and pointless disposals you will ever see on a footy field. The Bombers are a rabble and if the umpiures were fair dinkum, that was probably a 90-95 point vs 30 point win to the Tigers. Their best player was Redman which says a lot about the lack of effect that Parish and Merrett have on the game.

He’s got mental issues in front of goal now.

He drops the ball too close to himself. He almost looks like he’s gonnna drop it on his knee. Nearly every miss goes right.

I'm pretty sure he put Georges boots on tonight.

Just got home.

That was the worst night at the footy I've ever had at a game we won.

AFL IS *smile*. THE GAME IS BROKEN.

Essendon came out all cheap shots and knuckle. And we are the ones who copped 6 fifty metre penalties.

You can poleaxe a guy and canon into his back after he takes a mark, nothing. But if you shift your left foot an inch, 50.

Want to rebound from a behind? How about a pointless 5 minute goal review?

Want to take a contested mark? No, you can have some push in the back instead?

Surely, that was a brilliant holding the ball right? Nah, he hit the ground, dangerous tackle.

Also, it's not incorrect disposal if you don't have prior. Unless sometimes.

It has become unwatchable garbage. The flow is gone. The great moments are cheapened. Stop. Start. Stop. Start.

Technicality, blatant missed free, technicality.

As a spectator, you can't even celebrate a goal anymore, because you're waiting to see why it will be called back.

The only atmosphere is frustration.

There were three crowd fights in the section I was sitting in because everyone was so angry. Two streakers trying to generate something to spectate.

The biggest crowd lifter was the auskicker who kicked nine, and moved like Dusty and Bolton's love child.

It's 2022 in a squillion dollar competition and they can't get snicko to work and the only 2 cameras focusing on the goal posts are on the hubble telescope.

I liked Dusty's reaction to his 50m penalty. "I can't even *smile* hear you." Some of these rules have crossed the line to becoming unreasonable.

So I’m guessing you were in the vicinity of M6 -7

There were dicks up the top too. 4 got kicked out because they were sat in the top (must have been Q10 or 11) and were tipping beer and throwing things at us in N10-11. There certainly seemed to be a big increase in the feral population in the ground tonight.

Lynch injury will be inconsequential… he’ll get a week or two for the clean jumper punch to the face in the first… was a beauty

You must have been at the PRE goals then ? What happened in the crowd ?

Dimma just talks spin when asked about 50m penalties....nothing else he can do.

I'd be fully supportive if he just came out and called it as it is. Whether its he, Benny or Balmy I don't care. They can't *smile* us over anymore than they did tonight.

Formally, it would have to be Benny. I'm sure that he/we have done this quietly, internally but always keep getting to a stalemate position as nothing seems to improve.
