Gameday - Tigers V Bombers

Have said it before and I'll say it again, our over 30yo forward line of Cotch, Reiwoldt, Pickett, Dusty is way too slow, half the reason we're having to bomb it forward. Dusty is the only one earning his keep. Have to play Jack, we have nothing else.

A few are potting Nanks, I was surprised to see him play so soon, but imagine if it was a Samson/Miller ruck. Samson had just 5 hitouts, we would have been smashed tonight.
Samson had 5 hitouts cos he took a backseat to nank.

Might have dented his confidence, he might be cooked or he just couldn't get into the game.

But nank was woeful tonight.

I reckon the Samson/Miller combo would have beaten Draper tonight. And miller was stiff
to get dropped.

Both captains incredibly underwhelming. Been a theme this season

Our lack of fwd presence makes the Bauer decision even more mind boggling. Mind you i dont think Bauer makes it. Another shoddy pick

You’re the one not comprehending.

Whilst we utterly butchered it, Essendon turned it over more than us and their efficiency inside 50 was worse than us as well.

Ergo, not being able to counter the insane amount of uncontested possessions they garnered, and the way they slowed us down as a result, cost us big time.

As someone else posted, Brad Scott owns Hardwick.
Yep Hardwick completely out coached. How many times have coaches deployed these keeping’s off tactics against us and we still can’t counteract them. It goes back to the 2018 preliminary final.

Dimma says they realised Bummers game plan from their 2nds!!!! FMD. How prepared are we???
That is classic Dimma. No wonder we looked confused!! just play our game style let them chase us!!
Its a learning curve.
Simply dont have enough games into enough of the inexperienced players.

K Mac was a momentum killer and turnover merchant all F$@##&Y$# night as well.
Worst game from a Richmond player since Ben Lennon v Geelong 2016. Just an absolute *smile* nightmare especially last quarter.

Nank gave him a real run for his money.

This team is elite; at soul destroying defeats. No other team in the league would have lost that game tonight.

Let’s leave their most dangerous player around goals on his own inside 50 with less than a minute left. And Grimes on the bench. Just *smile* fabulous Richmond IMG_0961.jpeg

1 million inside 50s in the first 10 minutes.
We could have realistically put the game ton bed by quarter time.
We continually leave the door ajar.

Totally agree Poking Spaces. We got out coached. He just had no answer that I could see to what Scott was deploying. Is he unflexible Hooch ?

And it’s not the first time this sort of thing has happened either, be it the “keepings off” and slow us down approach that you’re referring to or the flood/roll back approach that Longmire uses on us all the time. He doesn’t have any counter plan for that either it seems.

There is nothing more evident now that the Tigers need to re-build.
Need an injection of class and players with good foot skills.

You mustnt have been watching too close. It wasn’t “pointless sideways kicks” they executed, it was the way they inched their way up the ground that allowed them to have a) not just more time in possession but b) almost the same amount of inside 50’s as us and c) more shots on goal.

That’s hardly having their game plan under control !

And that’s an indictment on us for allowing a crap team like that to do that to us.
I was watching very closely. And i even counted 2 goals in a half, so yes it was pointless. We've seen many teams play that way in the past and it doesn't cut it. Time in possession means jack. Bombers didn't have more scoring shots, it was the same (3 rushed to them, 2 to us) but regardless it wasn't their great game plan, it was our consistent bombing of the ball forward that didn't produce the additional chances. And yes they had less inside 50s. We were 18 points up with 7 minutes left. Under control. From that point on we totally threw it away. You can have your opinion but I just don't think we would have won by substantially changing our game plan as you suggest, particularly with the cattle on the ground. Our forward line is slow, you can't suddenly increase your forward 50 pressure with the players that were chosen.

Grimes made 3 terrible mistakes in a row in the last. He's really struggling a bit. Just signed for another year.
Goneski
Can't believe they signed him.
The bounce of the ball only missed him by a foot not by 12 metres but he might else just walled off the ground.
He was horrible tonight.
3 on the ball with 1 ready to Sheppard and he still found a way to *smile* it up.

Yes.
I thought the last couple of weeks the Miller Ryan combo was clicking.
We just changed a massive component to a winning formula and we took a step backwards.
Love Nank but he shouldn't be skipper as he should not have played tonight. Even fit.

Were u watching the game tonight, if Nank wasn't playing we would have lost by 40+ points. His second efforts were enormous. Draper would have kicked 4 and dominated the centre bounce.
