Game day thread - r22: 2019 WCE (MCG)

Amazing when the eagles had us on the ropes in the last quarter and could have been an unjust boil-over, the team showed no nerves, just full-bore hard-at-it tiger footy.

This is not the club I knew for 39 of my 42 years! I love this team.
And the qualities that this team have are filtering down to the younger players.

Big Dance dress rehearsal.

2 heavy weights.

With green maggots, only a goal between them, but a 4 goal win in my form line. The w rioli in the back, the non soldo mark, the non JR mark make us 4 goals better.

If one veiwed our centre set up entirely objectively, you could argue Soldo gives us more than nank? Just saying. Maybe theres no place for objectivity in football supportership?

Of the fringe, brando and caddy cemented their spots

Someone? did a job on a rampant liam ryan after 1/4 time. Suspect it was bakes. Hes in too

I think the killer J's - ross and graham - maybe nulified yeo and shuey too?
I lost sight of gaff too

Something small but lion-hearted i’d like to point out from the game.

That car crash collision that left darling rattled for the rest of the game.

Baker, bloody hell, he just ran back into that pack with no regard for personal safety.

It was one of the more courageous things I’ve seen on the footy field this year. Hats off to you, young man.
He almost took mark of the year earlier in the season doing something similar.

Yeo has this weird, expressionless face; reminds of something I saw in a morgue.
A funny Yeo moment.

Umpire bounced the ball, but it went skew-Wiff and umpire blew whistle
Yep turned back around and the ball retutning to earth hits him flush on top of the head.

It would have left a few stars circling.

Game over. They are too slick.

Out coached and out played. We are pretenders.
[/QUOTE]
We have just handed the Pies a top 4 spot. Buckleys laughing.
For all our so called depth we have no midfielders that can step in and make a difference. Missing Cotch.

Wow, there’s some excellent game day insights from one of Richmond’s most loyal supporters....

And a delusional bandwagon jumper to boot:

My early negative comments are working. Makes us always fight back. Will keep them coming

I had to go to work but managed to get out at about quarter time (can I ask now why the f*** the morons in the AFL have a game at 1.10pm - stupid time to start the game (yeah I know: TV)). It wasn't looking good.

Got there by half time, hmm, looking better, certainly within range, clearly had made a come back after the first quarter. Looking like we're still in this.

I found the third quarter quite strange, it felt strangely like there was a lack of intensity, more likely just an arm wrestle. But we were only 1 point behind at three quarter time: game on.

Last quarter was intense, when we got to 13 points ahead I thought we were 1 goal away from sealing it. They came back, one goal assist from an umpire ( ) and it was all even again. Then that goal from Jack.

That was a great win. Came back from a bad start. Got ahead, the opposition who are clearly a great team, came back and drew level. We managed to kick another to win. A very important win, now we need to back this up against Fitzroy.

One thing I noticed at the ground was just how well West Coast set up in defense. Geez, they were covering space so well and closing options. We need to work on how to get around that. Plus, we need to look at how they set up and take some clues, can always learn more.

Would have loved to have been there from the start but so glad I made it to the game, what a ripper, what a great win, Go Tiges.

What difference does that make you gherkin? We only won by 1 goal. Could've gone either way.

I'll repeat again. I see other teams fumble the ball less than we do, especially WC.

Inaccurate imo. I reckon the rain suits our game perfectly because of the pressure game we play. More fumbles means more time to close in on the opponent. We can of course play wet or dry but in a whole game of rain I don't think there's another team that can beat us.

Thanks you so so much for beating those turds, living in WA it was a godsend, probably no double chance for em....THANKS THANKS THANKS

Grimes said, "I need to play fullback, Flossy you take him", and it was a destroyation.

destroyation is beyond destructification.

yep. Darling and Liam Ryan appeared to be about to destructify us,

when Dimma drew a line under the sand, and goes

'Caracella, *smile* off you foxy little silver Essendon squib'

and tactically took total control,

and strategically dismantlified the only other premiership contender, moving forward

Lot of bizaare, weirdsville whackyland on this thread. as usual
Always safest posting after the siren isn't it TS? Couldn't be bothered checking if you posted in match.
I didn't but if you streamed my barracking from the standing room it would have its share of comments you could bag. I love the weird the whacky, the witty and wise on this forum.

The only reason I read the match day thread is to absorb the sensible, measured and articulate profferings of he and FUD. Brilliant stuff. Who needs On the couch or AFL 360 or Talking footy.....
