Apologies if you took any offence.

I have lived in the NT & Pilbara for 24 of my adult years and employed probably 50 or 60 indigenous apprentices & tradespeople.

Would I be comfortable saying it them , yes, our indigenous players, if I knew them , yes

Its called a sense of humour
Yep. Dean Rioli used to blame the turtle for coming back fat every year at Essendrugs n getting on the turps was a standard comment for anyone planning or having a big session when I was young n foolish.

The “eating too much turtle” line used in years gone by was a *smile* take surely? I don’t think you put on kilos just by eating turtle meat.

Turtle is quite fatty, a bit like whale blubber

According to a mate

yeah ive heard the old ocean shell backs are pretty greasy.

acquired taste apparently.

up this way, the blackfellas used to go up the glasshouse mountains for a big shin dig when the bunya nuts were on.

they are like a pine cone spud - really good roasted. fatty and full of carbs.

theres heaps of stories of the blokes heading off for a bunya nut session looking like Skinny Titus and coming back a month later like Stewy Dew

ive planted a few on the farm for the apocalypse. they're a way off fruiting, but ive got a few big ones located in my head

Played pretty well. Would have liked a bit more involvement because when he's near it things happen.

Had a chance to be more influential in the last but a couple of fumbles wing and half forward at crucial period of game

Lets not forget, he is still a junior playing in a seniors GF.

Did pretty well and will learn from that experience.

He is not that quick by my reckoning

what, you reckon Josh Caddy would beat every every Nightcliff backman over 20m?

MRJ was burning them and you could see their anxiety trying to stop him, grab his jumper, trip him, block him.

by my reckoning, he is blisteringly explosive. at least when theres a footy around

That was such an entertaining game to watch.

Some incredible skills despite the humidity and heat.

Even a good old-fashioned box on near the end of the game!

I wonder why the NTFL doesn't have a greater following down south?

Great to see so many ex-AFL players, too.

MRJ looks to have all the tools to my eye.

Got a good size and shape about him for a kid.

Thanks for posting the link, @caesar
