Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

Some said he was our most replaceable mid.
Dow was a pale imitation.
Hopper has been good. We missed him big time.
Yeh I think people have definitely underestimated Hopper’s influence this season.. Hopper has taken the pressure off Dion, and that showed with how poor he was last night. Dow has been fantastic at VFL level so he deserved his shot but it really does show the vast drop off from AFL to VFL level…

If selected,it should be on a 100 per cent injury free basis.Any doubt keep him rested till full recovery.

When he returns that must mean more forward time for Prestia, Bolton, Martin, & possibly Cotchin? Will be interesting to see the team may opt to not use a specialised full time crumber at all.

Hopper is a bit underrated by some. He had a slow start with us but started to show how good he is even when he was carrying the calf injury so see no reason why he will not slot back into the firsts without a VFL test. It may mean some of our kids will have to work harder to get a gig but that is a good thing

My 2 bobs worth the team was out of balance with positioning when Jacob was in the side. He will come in for sure but I hope we don't go back to the same set up as before. When Cotch retires things will fall more into place in a sense.

It will change the midfield mix, but must not be at the expense of Shai in the guts, he's our point of difference.

Put it this way, if Trent/TT/Dusty/Shai keep up current form then Hopper is a damn fine second rotation onballer. And it means they can manage his minutes better til he's match-fit.

Good problem to have.

Has overtaken Prestia this year, hopefully Dion can continue to build to the past player we have known

Yep... I was annoying people around me when we played the Suns at Marvel suggesting you cant play Torranto and Hopper in the middle when you had Dusty, Tent and Shai all there too. Good player the coaching team need to use him better than Dimma did.

It’s all about the rotation. They will all be in and out of the midfield depending on match ups etc. Midfield depth is crucial.

Still reckon it isn't a great idea playing Hopper and Tarranto in the middle at the same time, it just doesn't seem to work well and I wondered why they did it given we have other mids and you need to rotate them. Hopper was hitting some form and either should come straight back in or, if he needs some game time, half a game in the VFL just to dust off the cobwebs. Having the option of Tarranto or Hopper in the middle with the rest of our mids is bloody luxury.

Brisbane midfield bats deep. I reckon we bring Hopper in. Play Hopper HF if we need to and rotate the others through there too.
