Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Looks to be a very good mark, great at ground level, can kick 50+ metres and can tackle.

Has an AFL ready body, and by his own admissions needs to improve his fitness which will no doubt be sorted out this pre-season.

Surprised we took 3 x HFF's albeit with plans for Lennon to alternate between HFF and MID in the future, however as a worst case scenario we have nabbed one of the top VFL HFF's and recruited him to Coburg to run amok alongside Gordon, Lennon, Edwards and McBean depending who gets senior gigs.

Lloyd, the 10th highest goal kicker in the VFL this year kicked 37 goals in only 17 matches for Frankston this year (McBean kicked 37 in 14 games and A. Edwards 30 in 10).

Out of his 17 games, he was named in the best 5 x times and kicked a bag of 7 goals in one game.

Could be an inspired pick - fingers crossed!

Decent fellow Brett Evans.
Great bloke.

A lot to like about Lloyd. His pace will determine his fate but his rate of improvement from bush legend to very capable VFL player in his first season is very promising. Starring in the state game was a great sign too.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Looks a natural footballer. I agree with you Spook, if he has just enough pace and athletic attributes to get by then he will be a good pick-up for us. Does anyone know his testing scores?

The pre-season will probably be the most important part of the season for Sam.
